We are doing this because:

Security and privacy have become even more critical with AI. As AI tools become more prevalent in development workflows, ensuring the security and privacy of your code and infrastructure is paramount.
Most systems are a 'black box' and designed for vendor lock-in! We want to take a different approach. By open-sourcing our runner, you can see exactly what's happening with your deployments.
Most of the world's software uses open source. This allows us to give back to the community that has given so much to us.

Our Vision

When we started deployment.io, we started with a vision of a product that would combine the ease of use of Heroku with the power, control, and transparency of managing the cloud on our own.

We have a lot of features in the pipeline, and a lot of things will change. However, our users will always be able to check what we exactly do with their code and cloud.
