# Environments and Databases

## Environments

The **Environments** page lists each environment's runner, region and classification: production, staging or development.

**Environment +** creates one. **Set as default** marks an environment as the default; it gets a "Default" tag.

## Databases

The **Databases** page lists the AWS RDS databases Deployment.io deploys. To create one, click **Database +** and choose "AWS RDS".

The list has the columns **Details**, **Status**, **Type**, **Environment**, **Region** and **Last deployed**.

A database with deletion protection can't be deleted until it's turned off: "Deletion protection is enabled. Please disable it before deleting the database."
